Two charged over alleged break and enters, property theft and frauds – Cumberland PAC

A man and woman will face court today charged with break and enter, property theft and fraud offences after Christmas presents were stolen across Sydney’s western suburbs.

On Christmas Day (Monday 25 December 2023) and Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December 2023), officers from Cumberland Police Area Command responded to several incidents where property was allegedly stolen from homes in Parramatta, Merrylands, Granville, and Rosehill.

Following extensive inquiries, the Cumberland Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a property on Lennox Street, Parramatta, about 12.30pm yesterday (Friday 29 December 2023).

Police located and seized multiple allegedly stolen items including vacuum cleaners, luxury brand bags and shoes.

A 48-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were arrested at the property before being taken to Granville Police Station.

The man was charged with 12 offences including five counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, three counts of break & enter house steal less than/ equal to $60,000, two counts of break and enter dwelling-house with intent (steal), possess prohibited drug and larceny.

The woman was charged seven counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception.

Both were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local court today (Saturday 30 December 2023).
