Two Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) board directors have been reappointed following a public expression of interest selection process.

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) board directors Kevin Gordon and Matthew Waring have been reappointed following a public expression of interest selection process.

Mr Gordon has been reappointed for three years with Mr Waring’s term extended for two years to assist in staggering appointments to the GRNSW governing body.

Mr Gordon and Mr Waring are the two “industry participant” members of the seven-member board, chaired by John Williams.

Minister for Racing Kevin Anderson said both incumbent directors have demonstrated the benefits they bring to the board and their reappointments will ensure it continues to appropriately consider the interests of industry participants.

“The greyhound racing industry in NSW is in great shape at the moment and GRNSW should be commended for the work they are doing right around NSW,” Mr Anderson said.

“Welfare standards are the best in the country, prizemoney is at an all-time high and track standards are continuing to be upgraded to ensure the safety of these wonderful animals.

“Under the leadership of the current Board, GRNSW is continuing to support the growth and prosperity of the NSW greyhound racing industry and I commend the work the board is doing.”

Mr Gordon is Director and Owner of Multicam Routing Systems, a private business employing more than 40 staff across three states.

He is a long-time industry participant and strong advocate for greyhound racing, particularly in the Hunter region.

Mr Gordon is a former President of the National Coursing Association and currently leads the Board’s Greyhound Welfare Committee.

Mr Waring is Managing Director and Principal Solicitor of Waring & Co, a legal practice specialising in employment law and industrial relations.

He has previously served on the Richmond Race Club committee and chairs the GRNSW Board’s Infrastructure Committee.
