Two Hells Angels OMCG members charged following public place shooting – Eastern Beaches

Two members of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang have been charged following a public place shooting on Sydney’s Eastern Beaches.

About 8pm on Saturday 27 May 2023, police were called to a unit on Gregory Street, South Coogee, following reports of a public place shooting, where seven shots from a high-powered firearm were fired into a unit.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene locating damage to the exterior of the unit. There were no reports of injuries following the incident.

Detectives established Strike Force Auberson to investigate the incident.

Following inquiries, about 12.30pm on Friday 2 June 2023, police arrested a 41-year-old man at a house on Farnsworth Avenue, Campbelltown. Officers then executed a crime scene warrant on the mans’ premises and allegedly located a semi-automatic high-powered rifle fitted with a scope and a quantity of drugs which will be subject to further forensic examination.

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with fire firearm at dwelling-house disregard for safety and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday 3 June 2023, where bail was formally refused, to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 6 June 2023.

Following further inquiries, about 1.40pm on Friday 2 June 2023, a 31-year-old man was arrested at Wauchope Crescent, South Coogee.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with fire firearm at dwelling-house disregard for safety.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday 3 June 2023, where bail was formally refused, to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 7 June 2023.
