Two men charged – Operation Vipers, NSW

Further charges have been made in the ongoing investigations by a specialist operation in Sydney’s south for alleged ongoing drug supply.

Operation Vipers is a team made up of detectives and proactive crime team officers attached to St George Police Area Command to investigate and disrupt the supply of illicit drugs in the St George area.

In August, detectives attached to Operation Vipers commenced inquiries into the on-going supply of Heroin and Ice from the Riverwood Area.

At 2pm yesterday (Thursday 10 October 2019), a search warrant was executed at a hotel in Darling Harbour.

Officers located and seized a large sum of cash and a small amount of prohibited drugs within the hotel room. A 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested.

The 28-year-old Riverwood man was charged with seven counts of on-going supply of prohibited drugs, knowingly direct activities of criminal group, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

The 24-year-old Riverwood woman was charged with supply and participate in criminal group.

A short time later, police arrested a 39-year-old man at a home on Charles Street, Riverwood.

A search warrant was executed at the premise and officers located and seized two rifles, a taser, a pistol and ammunition, as well as prohibited drugs, an extensive amount of high-end jewellery and around 50 mobile phone devices.

The 39-year-old Riverwood man was charged with five counts of ongoing supply of prohibited drug, two counts supply prohibited drug and participate in criminal group

He was conveyed to Kogarah police station where he was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 11 October 2019).

The 30-year-old man was conveyed to Surry Hills police station where he was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Friday 11 October 2019).

The woman was granted bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 29 October 2019.
