Police have now arrested all five people in relation to an incident in Ashwood on 19 September where a police officer was struck by a stolen car.
Officers were tracking a black Mercedes Benz SUV, when it was located in Gubbah Court about 2.15am.
It’s alleged as police moved in the vehicle drove out of the court and mounted the footpath, striking a female member who was launched several metres down the road.
The vehicle sped from the scene and was located nearby after it struck a fence at the corner of Jordan Street and Salisbury Road.
With the assistance of the police Air Wing, three teen boys, aged 15, 16 and 17 – all from the Casey area – were located and arrested.
The first constable was lucky to escape serious injury and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The vehicle was allegedly stolen during a home invasion in Cranbourne East about 30 minutes prior.
Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged three teens last week with multiple offences including home invasion, aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, dangerous driving while pursued by police and assault police.
Detectives arrested two more teenagers today and Sunday.
A 17-year-old from the Wyndham area has been charged with home invasion, attempted home invasion, theft of motor vehicle, aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving.
A 16-year-old boy from the Casey area has been charged with home invasion, attempted home invasion, theft of motor vehicle, aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving.
They have been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
