Universities Australia appoints new Deputy Chief Executive

Universities Australia has appointed Renee Hindmarsh as its new Deputy Chief Executive, effective 25 October 2023.

Ms Hindmarsh is an experienced advocate with extensive experience in leadership, policy and advocacy roles across industry and state and federal governments.

She was previously the Executive Director of the Australian Technology Network, and most recently held the position of South Australian Skills Commissioner.

“I am delighted to welcome Renee to the Universities Australia team,” Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson said.

“She has extensive experience in universities and across the whole post-school sector, including in advocacy roles, which will be of immense benefit to our work.

“Renee brings a deep understanding of the operation of government and parliamentary processes, as well as broad policy experience and knowledge.

“Universities are navigating a pivotal period and Renee’s expertise will serve us strongly in our efforts to inform and influence the direction of higher education policy.”
