Unlawful use of motor vehicle charges at Heatley, QLD

Police have charged two juveniles after an alleged stolen vehicle was dumped at Heatley this morning.

Around 7.55am, at the intersection of High Range Drive and Pioneer Drive, Thuringowa Central, police will allege a stolen white Toyota Prado collided with a Mazda2 which then collided with a Toyota Landcruiser. The Prado fled the scene.

The female driver of the Mazda2 was transported to Townsville University Hospital with chest pain. The male driver of the Toyota Landcruiser was not physically injured.

Police will further allege, around 8.05am, the Prado then crashed into a fence of a high school on Hudson Street, Kirwan.

The Prado was abandoned on Hanlon Street, Heatley minutes later, with the driver and passengers fleeing the vehicle.

Ten minutes later, three juveniles were arrested nearby.

A 12-year-old girl was charged with four counts of trespass, two counts of stealing, and one count each of public nuisance, interfering with fire apparatus, wilful damage and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She has been remanded in custody to appear in Townsville Childrens Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court at a later date.

A 10-year-old girl was dealt with under the youth justice act.
