Unlicensed driver charged with high-range drink-driving with toddler in car in Fairlight

An unlicensed driver has been charged with high-range drink-driving following a vehicle stop at Fairlight yesterday.

About 3.45pm (Tuesday 26 March 2019), police from Northern Beaches Police Area Command stopped a Mazda 2 hatchback on Parkview Road and submitted the driver to a random breath test.

A roadside breath-test proved positive, with checks revealing the 55-year-old male driver hadn’t held a licence for more than 10 years.

At the time, the man’s partner and three-year-old boy were passengers in the car.

He was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station, where a breath-analysis returned a reading of 0.252.

The Dee Why man was charged with driving with high-range PCA and driving while unlicensed.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 17 April 2019.

A notification has been made to Family and Community Services (FACS).
