UNSW Knowledge Exchange launches new capabilities website

UNSW Sydney’s ever-expanding portfolio of research and technology capabilities is now accessible as an online searchable database.

The launch of the Research Capability and Technology Portfolio website follows the success of the 2019 Knowledge Exchange Research Showcase event series.

Standing at over 500 online capabilities and set to grow, the platform supports the formation of collaborative networks or partnerships and provides prospective partners quick access to specialist knowledge and vital research developments through an intelligent search feature.

“The website will facilitate increased collaboration, enable more efficient networking, and the ability to quickly match real-world needs with the relevant knowledge, expertise and/or technology within UNSW,” said Warwick Dawson, Director of UNSW Knowledge Exchange. “We’re excited to offer both our prospective partners and academic community the opportunity to expedite the translation of research into impact.”

The capabilities featured mirror the themes of the showcase event series – The Value of Trust, Bioengineering, Defence and Clean Energy – providing insight into UNSW’s research capabilities and available technologies in these fields. The new site enables visitors to download either the portfolio or fact sheet of interest complete with researcher contact details, making it easy to seek further information.

Engagement and linkage with external partners from industry, government, not for profits and other organisations is fundamental to UNSW’s mission to improve and transform lives through excellence in research. These partnerships can make an extraordinary impact by harnessing and translating research and knowledge for greater economic, social and cultural progress.
