UPDATE: Man charged over alleged dangerous driving – Glenorie

A man will face court next month charged over a dangerous driving incident in Sydney’s north-west.

About 1pm on Friday (23 June 2023), officers from The Hills Police Area Command received a report of a truck driving in a dangerous manner, including performing an illegal overtaking manoeuvre, on the Old Northern Road at Glenorie.

Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command commenced inquiries to identify the driver of the vehicle.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators attended a trucking company in Revesby just after 8am today (Monday 26 June 2023).

Shortly afterwards, a 41-year-old male employee was spoken to by police and underwent a drug test that returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where a secondary test also returned a positive reading which will undergo further analysis before any action is taken.

The Padstow man was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 20 July 2023.

A 24-hour prohibition notice from driving was also served upon the man.
