Update: Shooting incident at Beenleigh, QLD

Police have charged two men, after a man was allegedly assaulted and shot in the leg at Beenleigh last week.

It will be alleged that around 4pm on Tuesday January 22, two men attended an address at Lehmans Road where they assaulted a 40-year-old male occupant.

It’s further alleged that one of the men then shot the occupant in the calf, before the pair fled the scene.

The 40-year-old Loganholme man suffered head injuries and a gunshot wound and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Around 9.30am this morning, detectives executed a search warrant at a Lucy Street property in Marsden where they took a man into custody.

A 43-year-old Marsden man has now been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearms and one count of possession of explosives and unlawful possession of a motor vehicle.

He’s scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police have also charged a 39-year-old Hendra man with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
