Labor is delivering more level-access tram stops on Sydney Road and upgrading the Brunswick Tram Depot to deliver more services.
Two level-access tram stops on Moreland Road will be built to cut congestion and make it easier for passengers to board trams.
Upgrading the Brunswick Tram Depot will improve maintenance facilities and boost tram stabling capacity by 30 per cent.
Crews will build a new track exit to directly connect the depot to Sydney Road – allowing more trams to run in the morning peak and cut congestion along Moreland Road.
From 9:00pm Friday, 21 August until early October there will be road closures and service changes on Routes 6, 19 and 58.
The works will be completed in stages with Sydney Road to be closed between Davies Street and Mitchell Street from Friday, 21 August to Friday, 4 September.
Between Saturday, 12 September to Friday, 2 October, Moreland Road will be closed between Cameron Street and Sydney Road.
