The driver of a utility involved in a fatal crash at Rouse Hill will appear in court today, charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Windsor and Schofields Roads, Rouse Hill, just before 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday 18 June 2020), after reports a motorcycle and a utility had collided.
Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics found the motorcyclist critically injured. Despite efforts, the 28-year-old man from Bligh Park died at the scene.
The driver of the utility, a 37-year-old man from The Ponds, was not injured and was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was then taken to Quakers Hill Police Station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, and negligent driving occasioning death.
Police will allege in court the collision occurred when the utility driver drove through a red light.
The man has been refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court later today (Friday 19 June 2020).
