Vaccination clinics coming to Bunnings

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Health

Bunnings is supporting the Tasmanian Government’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts, providing space in store carparks to host pop-up clinics in the North and North-West of the State.

Pop-up clinics will be running at three Bunnings locations this weekend, at Devonport on Saturday and at Burnie and Invermay on Sunday, from 9am to 3pm both days.

Minister for Health Jeremy Rockliff said walk-ins are welcome – no appointment is required.

“If you’re in any of these areas and can get to Bunnings, you could add a Pfizer jab to the ‘to do’ list,” Mr Rockliff said.

“This is an important initiative and the Government is encouraging anyone 12 years and over to take this opportunity to protect yourself and your community by getting vaccinated this weekend.

“We’re very thankful to Bunnings for allowing our Public Health vaccination teams to operate these Pfizer clinics at its Devonport, Burnie and Invermay sites.”

Bunnings Managing Director Mike Schneider said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting the Tasmanian Government with the rollout of community vaccinations across North and North-West Tasmania, by providing space in our carparks at our Launceston, Devonport and Burnie stores.

“We hope it makes accessing vaccinations as easy as possible for the community and customers.”

Mr Rockliff said when our borders reopen on December 15, we will see cases of coronavirus in Tasmania.

“That’s why it is more important than ever to get vaccinated. Vaccination is the best way of protecting yourself, your family, friends and others in the community against COVID-19. The message is clear: Don’t wait, vaccinate,” Mr Rockliff said.
