More than 124,000 confidential documents have been leaked to Britain’s Guardian newspaper that outline Uber’s guerrilla strategy that involved dodging police, undermining regulators, and undisclosed meetings with politicians.

Rod Barton MP believes none of what has come to light should be surprising.

These leaked files will have ramifications around the world, and Barton expects Victoria will be no different.

Documents revealed that Uber planned to spend $90 million in 2016 on lobbying and public relations alone. Victorian taxi drivers recall that time clearly, 2016 was the year the Victorian Government announced plans to legalise Uber and de-regulate the taxi industry.
