WA Music Week 2026 gets underway today, bringing together Western Australian artists, industry professionals, and music lovers for 10 days of live music, networking, and professional development.
Delivered by West Australian Music (WAM), WA Music Week features a program of events across Fremantle that showcase local talent and create opportunities for artists to connect with audiences and industry leaders.
The Cook Labor Government continues to support the growth of the State’s contemporary music sector through a range of initiatives, including a $750,000 election commitment to support the development of a WA Gig Guide and audience development activities, plus $500,000 to support WA Music Week over four years.
Developed as a partnership between WAM and RTRFM, the WA Gig Guide will be launched during WAMCon, one of Australia’s largest music conferences.
WAMCon continues to grow in popularity, with attendance figures tracking to attract a record number of visiting interstate industry and local delegates.
Recognising the importance of Western Australia’s contemporary music sector, the Cook Labor Government invests more than $1.125 million annually through the Contemporary Music Fund to help musicians and music industry professionals develop their careers. Applications for grants through this fund are currently open.
New additions to this year’s WA Music Week program include masterclasses with Karnivool’s Drew Goddard on the creative process and acclaimed producer Anna Laverty on music production.
