Wallis Street works ready to roll out

Mitchell Shire Council is about to undertake important reconstruction and resurfacing works in Wallis Street, Seymour, from Tuesday 28 January until Friday 28 February.

Wallis Street between Bishop Street and High Street will see the removal of the current road surface, the road base stabilised and finished with a new asphalt surface.

During construction the road will be limited to one lane with full traffic management in place.

While there will be minor delays, vehicles will still be able to move through the area. Council reminds drivers to adhere to the instructions of traffic management for your safety and the safety of road workers.

Council undertook works on Wallis Street in 2019, but following road surface failure, further testing indicated the need to undertake major repairs because of a poor road base.

This reconstruction will be fully funded through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery program.
