Water outage at Skennars Head – Friday 22 September

A water main break has occurred at Skennars Head.

Ballina Shire Council’s water team will be carrying out repairs to the water main tomorrow, Friday 22 September 2023, from 9.30am to 3pm.

During this time water supply will be temporary unavailable to properties on the following streets:

  • Henderson Drive
  • Nixon Place
  • Kellie-Anne Crescent
  • Mosman Chase
  • Olivia Circuit
  • The Coast Road (limited to two properties adjacent to Kellie-Anne Crescent)
  • Killarney Crescent

The majority of Skennars Head should expect to have reduced water pressure, however some of the higher streets, including Killarney Crescent, should expect a water outage.

Recycled water supply will not be impacted during this outage. Properties connected to recycled water will still be able to flush toilets.

Our team will make every effort to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.

Council apologises for the inconvenience and will provide updates via Council’s website and social media regarding the works.

Here’s some things to remember that will assist you during this outage:

  • During any water disruption it’s important to leave your taps off as the water may return at any time.
  • When water returns it may be discoloured. This is due to sediment. Please run the tap until your water runs clear.
  • Your water may appear milky. This is caused by small air bubbles. Don’t be alarmed it is not harmful and will settle in a short period.
