There are 4,922 registered businesses in the Byron Shire, providing more than 16,000 jobs and it’s a challenging time for many because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Council wants to understand how to best service our industry sectors and all business owners are asked to share their experiences via the Business Impacts, Resilience and Continuity Survey.
“This is new territory for our entire nation and this is why it is important to track the journey through this pandemic and beyond, from the perspective of our businesses,” Council’s Business Enterprise Officer, Lisa Richards said.
“If we have details on what are the immediate priorities for local businesses and where they need help then this information will help Council to provide support and assistance where we can,” she said.
The outcomes of the survey will also be passed on to State and Federal Governments so they can have an understanding about what is happening in the Byron Shire.
“We are asking businesses to commit to filling out this survey every two weeks and this will help us get an understanding of the immediate impact of the pandemic, as well as the resilience of businesses and the recovery and continuity of the local economy,” Ms Richards said.
“At the end of the survey period one lucky participant will win an iPad ‘Air’ valued at $779,” she said.
The survey is being promoted in Council’s new electronic newsletter, Business in Byron Shire.
