Flooding stay informed.jpg

We experienced significant rainfall in our Shire late last week.

In response Council assisted the SES response effort through closure of roads, clearing of drains and other works to maintain public safety

More, significant rainfall is forecast for Wednesday, 12 October and Thursday, 13 October, 2022.

Residents in the north of the state are being advised to prepare and get ready – now.

In readiness for this week’s predicted further heavy rainfalls Council has inspected and cleared drains in high priority areas, prepared a stockpile of sandbags to support the SES response and facilitated a community sandbag collection point for the SES to manage at the Brick Kiln Site

Council is well prepared to support the SES who will be the lead agency should major flooding occur as a result of forecast significant rainfall

Flooding is a powerful forced and it can happen with little warning.
