Western Australia coronovirus update as at 12 April 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight – a female in her 30s – who is in hotel quarantine after returning from overseas travel.

The State’s total number now stands at 954.

WA Health is monitoring 10 active cases of COVID-19 and 935 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 67,146 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 12,172 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 281 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 313 people attended WA Health COVID clinics, with 309 assessed and swabbed.

There have been 970,984 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 135,532 were from regional WA.

To date, 43 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 31 of the B.1.1.7 strain, 11 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
