Western Australia coronovirus update as at 15 April 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight – a male in his 40s – who is in hotel quarantine after returning from overseas travel.

The State’s total number now stands at 965.

WA Health is monitoring 18 active cases of COVID-19 and 938 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 72,263 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 14,667 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 1682 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 383 people attended WA Health COVID clinics, with 369 assessed and swabbed.

There have been 980,080 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 136,198 were from regional WA.

To date, 47 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 34 of the B.1.1.7 strain, 12 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
