Western Australia coronovirus update as at 22 February 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight bringing State’s total to 912.

The positive case is a male aged in his 50s who travelled to Perth from overseas and is in hotel quarantine.

WA Health is monitoring four active cases of COVID-19 and 899 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, 22 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (15 B.1.1.7 strain and 7 B.1.351 strain).

Yesterday 419 people were swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics.

There has been a total of 853,710 tests processed throughout the State. Of those, 126,501 were from regional WA.
