Western Australia coronovirus update as at 8 February 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State’s total number of confirmed cases remains at 907.

Contact tracing around case #903 has identified 527 close and casual contacts. All have now returned at least one negative test result.

The locations visited by case #903 are available on the Healthy WA website.

Anyone who is symptomatic should get a COVID-19 test immediately. This includes any one who has recently received negative test results – if symptoms develop it is important get retested.

Yesterday 3,555 people were tested for COVID-19 across the State. At WA Health COVID clinics 1,098 presented for testing – 1,085 were assessed and 1,084 swabbed.

WA Health is monitoring 10 active cases of COVID-19 – and 888 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, 19 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (15 B.1.1.7 strain and 4 B.1.351 strain).

There have been 800,100 test results returned throughout the State. Of those, 120,681 were from regional WA.
