What’s Happening In Your Suburb This Month?

From safer roads and improved walkways to upgrades that strengthen essential services ahead of the wet season, Council is continuing to invest in projects that help keep our communities connected, accessible and resilient.

While some works may cause temporary disruptions, they’re all part of building a better region for residents now and into the future.

Holloways Beach and Caravonica

In the northern suburbs, work is continuing on a new bridge at Holloways Beach, a major project that will improve local connections and support a more resilient road network.

Further south, ongoing repairs along Barron Gorge Road at Caravonica are helping maintain an important route used by residents, visitors and commuters every day.

Trinity Beach, Trinity Park and Kewarra Beach

Across the northern beaches, several projects are making it easier and safer for people to move around their neighbourhoods.

Improvements include a new pedestrian crossing on Reed Road, road widening on Aropa Street and water main renewal and road rehabilitation works along Trinity Beach Road. Recent asphalting works in

Kewarra Beach have also helped refresh local streets.

Redlynch, Freshwater and Yorkeys Knob

Behind-the-scenes infrastructure works are helping ensure essential services continue to meet the needs of growing communities.

Water main renewal works are underway in Redlynch, drainage improvements are progressing in Freshwater, and water supply upgrades are continuing in parts of Yorkeys Knob.

Cairns City and Cairns North

Whether you’re walking, catching the bus or visiting the city centre, a number of upgrades are underway to improve the experience.

A new footpath is being constructed along Minnie Street, LED lighting is being upgraded on Lake Street, and improvements to bus stops on Spence Street will make public transport more accessible and comfortable for passengers.

White Rock and Mount Sheridan

Road resealing works are taking place across several streets in White Rock

and Mount Sheridan, helping to extend the life of existing roads and create smoother journeys for local motorists.
