Today has been a terrible day for the Liberal Government:
- The new Spirit of Tasmania vessels were confirmed to be at least a year behind schedule
- The Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment has been delayed, again, after beds were promised to be open in 2018.
- Jobs data shows the jobless rate is still one of the worst in the nation, despite promises from Peter Gutwein to make it the lowest, including the loss of 1300 jobs in the west and north-west in the last 12 months
Shadow Minister for Infrastructure Shane Broad said while the Government was dumping a series of bad news stories on the same day, people were wondering why the Premier was making his Ministers, leadership rivals, GBEs and contractors face the tough questions.
“It’s time Peter Gutwein takes off the training wheels,” Dr Broad said.
“Our message to the Premier is clear: Get out of hiding and do your job. Tasmanians shouldn’t have to suffer while you’re on probation.”
