Wilful damage at Gympie

Queensland Police have charged a 31-year-old Gympie man after he allegedly damaged property at a Gympie business last night on April 26.

It will be alleged around 7:45pm, the man entered the River Road business armed with a crowbar wrapped in a towel.

The man then used the wrapped crowbar to strike several service kiosks before fleeing the business towards Hyne Street.

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

The man was arrested this afternoon at a Lawrence Street, Gympie address.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises and commit, stealing and possess used utensils or pipes.

He is due to face Gympie Magistrates Court tomorrow on March 28.
