Saturday 7 September, 7pm

The Concourse Concert Hall, Chatswood

Relive the magic of the late great George Michael as Willoughby Symphony Orchestra presents A Tribute to George Michael – a one off concert spectacular at The Concourse, Chatswood.

Thirty-five years since George Michael topped the Australian charts with Wham hit Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and his first solo single Careless Whisper, join the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra as they celebrate his iconic music. These well-loved songs will be enhanced by the extraordinary colour of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra under the baton of one of Australia’s most versatile and effervescent conductors – the remarkable George Ellis with guest vocalist MiG Ayesa.

A celebrated conductor, Mr Ellis has made a career of combining symphony orchestras with popular artists. These include Lou Reed, The Church, Megan Washington, Josh Pyke, Sneaky Sound System, Human Nature, Augie March and many others.

International recording artist MiG Ayesa returns home to lend his powerhouse vocals. MiG grew up in Australia before being propelled onto the world stage by a role in Buddy… the Buddy Holly Story. He went on to perform in a variety of musicals including the Queen musical We Will Rock You, Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor and Thriller Live.

Bop along to toe tapping numbers including Faith, Freedom and Fast Love and experience beautifully crafted and sentimental ballads including Jesus to a Child, Father Figure and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me in the glorious acoustics of The Concourse’s concert hall.
