Wishy-Washy White must stand up to Caucus opponents

Members,

Reports from The Examiner show Rebecca White is desperately trying to crabwalk away from Josh Willie and Dean Winter’s parliamentary stunts.

Facing strong criticism, the Examiner reports “Opposition leader Rebecca White appeared to back down from (moving a no confidence motion) in comments on Wednesday morning.” *

This followed Dean Winter’s extraordinary confirmation yesterday that moving a no confidence motion to disrupt legislation was his plan all along, despite his leader’s comments on Sunday saying Labor didn’t have a position either way.

The Tasmanian Government has been clear – our priority for the upcoming sitting week is getting on with legislation to begin implementing COI recommendations.

Tasmanians expect their Members of Parliament to get on with the job of passing laws – not engaging in political games.

It is little wonder Rebecca White is distancing herself from her partyroom’s plans for parliamentary stunts to disrupt legislation.
