Witnesses sought for Thomastown attempted aggravated carjacking

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives are seeking assistance from the public following an attempted aggravated carjacking in Thomastown on Monday.

Investigators were told a man approached the female victim at a carwash on High Street on Monday 9 November about midday.

It is believed the man spoke to the victim about her car before producing a small knife and demanding her keys.

The victim started to panic before the offender fled the scene empty handed.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

The offender is perceived to be Islander / Maori in appearance with a medium build and short black hair.

He was wearing black clothing, white Nike runners and carrying a distinctive multi coloured backpack and riding a black mountain bike.

Police have released CCTV and images of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.
