Witnesses sought in Salisbury Downs break-in, South Australia

Northern District police are investigating a break-in and theft at Salisbury Downs last night.

About 7.20pm on Sunday 5 December, police were called to a home on Salisbury Highway after a man allegedly broke into an elderly woman’s home and stole jewellery.

The man forced entry to the home by forcing open a rear sliding door. The occupant yelled for help and a neighbor came to her assistance.

The suspect was confronted in the woman’s bedroom before he kicked open the front screen door and ran off.

He was last seen running across Salisbury Highway and on to Amsterdam Crescent.

Several patrols converged on the area to search for the man but he could not be found.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black face mask, grey sleeveless top and black pants and was carrying a black drawstring back pack with string straps.
