Woman attempts to pass counterfeit note at North Essendon

Moonee Ponds police are investigating after a woman attempted to pass a counterfeit note at North Essendon last week.

The incident happened at a fast-food restaurant on Keilor Road on 22 May at 6.15am.

Investigators have been told that the woman, driving a silver Honda CRV with false plates, ordered some food and attempted to pay with a $50 note.

Staff spoke to the woman after they realised that the note was counterfeit and she drove off, leaving the note and her food behind.

Investigators have released an image of a woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
