A woman has been charged with alleged domestic violence, traffic, and assault police offences following an incident on the Mid North Coast.
On Monday 7 September 2026, police attached to Mid North Coast Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged domestic violence assault of a man.
Following inquiries, about 7pm last night (Tuesday 8 September 2026), police attended a car park in Port Macquarie where they attempted to arrest a woman.
The woman allegedly drove from the location in her vehicle and police continued inquiries to locate her.
About 10pm, officers attempted to stop the woman’s vehicle at Sancrox. When the woman allegedly failed to stop as directed, a brief pursuit was initiated before being terminated due to safety concerns.
Police sighted the vehicle at Lake Cathie a short time later, where officers were forced to take evasive action after the woman allegedly accelerated towards a police vehicle.
The woman’s vehicle was located abandoned on the Oxley Highway a short time later, and the 18-year-old woman was arrested nearby.
The woman allegedly resisted arrest and kicked an officer’s leg before she was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
There she was charged with 13 offences,
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV)
- Common assault (DV)
- Armed with intent commit indictable offence
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic)
- Not comply with direction given by police officer
- Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm)
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic)
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty (two counts), and
- Assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm (three counts).
She was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Wednesday 9 September 2026), where she was granted conditional bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
