A man has been arrested after a woman was hospitalised in a critical condition and two others were injured in Sydney’s Inner West today.
Just after 10am (Friday 7 August 2020), emergency services attended a unit block on Bourke Place, Abbotsford, following reports of an assault.
A 56-year-old woman was found suffering critical injuries after being assaulted by a man, known to her.
A 75-year-old man, also known to the woman, was assaulted when he intervened.
They were both treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, with the woman remaining in a critical but stable condition.
A 42-year-old female neighbour suffered minor injuries when she came to their aid.
Officers from Burwood Police Area Command arrested a 19-year-old man at the scene.
He has been taken to Burwood Police Station where he remains in custody.
