Woman seriously injured after fail-to-stop crash, NSW

Police have commenced an investigation after a woman was found seriously injured on a road in Sydney’s west this morning.

About 3.45am (Monday 29 August 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Hythe Street near Luxford Road, Mt Druitt, after reports an injured woman was found on the roadway.

The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit, and commenced an investigation.

Police believe the woman was struck by a vehicle, that has driven from the scene without the driver rendering assistance.

As inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue, police are urging anyone who may have information, or dashcam/mobile phone footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
