A 54 year old Legana woman will be summonsed to appear in court after blowing over three times the legal limit last night.
An off duty police officer witnessed the woman’s driving behaviour and notified police, who intercepted the woman in the Legana Shopping Centre carpark shortly after 6pm last night.
Police allege the woman was heavily intoxicated and required medical assistance.
She was transported to the Launceston General Hospital, where she was subsequently breathtested with a recording of 0.211.
The woman will be charged with one count of Driving Under the Influence and one count of exceed 0.05 and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police came clear of the job about 9pm.
