Lovers of fashion and art will be in their element when COPACC hosts a Wearable Art Market on Saturday 29 June as part of its annual CrossXpollinatioN fibre and textile exhibition.

The WAM, as it is affectionately known in Colac Otway’s arts community, will feature 15 high quality stallholders offering everything from jewellery to clothing to accessories and everything in between.

Stallholders are coming from across Victoria to showcase and sell their handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Coordinator Sandy Batten said that in the spirit of CrossXpollinatioN, the WAM was an opportunity for artists and art enthusiasts to exchange ideas.

“WAM is always full of colour, quality and wonderful conversation about all things textile, fibre and wearables and this year we welcome some new stallholders,” she said.

“The makers both local and from across Victoria are all quality artisans working with a range of materials to create beautiful pieces whether it be jewellery, a pair of slippers or upcycled clothing, this year there will be something for everyone.”

COPACC Manager Tamzin McLennan acknowledged Sandy’s work in pulling together a diverse and inspiring range of artist vendors for the WAM.

“This is a significant event and COPACC is very grateful for Sandy’s leadership and coordination of the WAM, which will add an exciting extra dimension to CrossXpollinatioN.”

The WAM will take place in the COPACC foyer from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 29 June and entry is free. The CrossXpollinatioN exhibition will be open at the same time in COPACC’s Civic Hall and entry is by gold coin donation.
