Woodcroft man charged with firearms offences, South Australia

A man is facing firearms charges after a road rage incident at Morphett Vale today.

About 12.40pm on Tuesday 5 January, an altercation occurred between two drivers on Beach Road, Morphett Vale. It will be alleged that during the incident one driver produced a handgun.

There were no reported injuries.

Police were called and quickly located the driver at his Woodcroft home address. During a search of the premises, police allegedly located and subsequently seized a number of firearms, including an imitation regulated firearm (starter pistol).

The 77-year-old Woodcroft man was arrested and charged with numerous firearms offences. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates tomorrow, Wednesday 6 January.
