Works will continue at the North Adelaide Public Golf Course upgrade after a legal bid to immediately halt works was not successful.
An opponent of the project sought an injunction in the Federal Court today, in a bid to stop the State Government from carrying out or authorising any further works within the North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment project site.
The Federal Court did not grant this injunction today, meaning work on the site can continue as planned.
Work on the site started in April and the current phase of the project includes ground works such as shaping holes, laying irrigation and preparing the site for the laying of turf. No further trees are planned for removal in coming weeks.
The North Adelaide Public Golf Course upgrade will turn the existing golf course into one of the world’s best public golf courses, within walking distance of the Adelaide CBD.
The upgraded course is set to host the men’s and women’s Australian Open as well as LIV Golf Adelaide, delivering significant economic benefit to South Australia.

The State Government welcomes the decision of the Federal Court today, which means works at the North Adelaide Public Golf Course can continue as planned.
This is an exciting project for the state, which will significantly improve the existing public golf course at North Adelaide and improve the amenity of our Park Lands.
It will also be capable of hosting major tournaments within walking distance of the CBD, delivering significant economic benefit to our state.
