Wyndham City is proud to announce Deepshika Adhinarayanan as the One Wyndham recipient for October.
Deepshika is dedicated to helping others. Volunteering every week at the Salvation Army and recently hosting her first Australia’s biggest morning tea in honour of family and friends to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
She has a strong commitment to improving the circumstances of others and encourages inclusion through raising awareness and advocating for First Nations people, migrant cultures, and helping children improve their literacy.
She actively participating in the RAP Reconciliation Action Plan committee at her school, Mac Robertson High School, to make sure Indigenous values are considered and woven into the school curriculum and community.
Deepshika helps out children at the Student2Student reading program. The program is designed to help develop, encourage, and improve reading skills for children in disadvantaged circumstances.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said: “Deepshika makes a valuable contribution to the Wyndham community through her volunteering work. She is a positive role model and does of active service in the community.”

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
