Wyndham City is proud to announce Atticus Tan as the One Wyndham recipient for September.
Atticus is doing his bit to help the community by offering free bike repairs and bike servicing to local residents. He reuses parts from old, recycled and abandoned bikes, which not only reduces bikes going to landfill but helps community members to save money.
Atticus offers free servicing every fortnight and during the school holidays. As Atticus fixes bikes, he also proactively coaches the parents on how to maintain their children’s bikes to ensure safety. Point Cook residents benefit as they take their bikes in for free health checks, tyres, chain replacement, seat adjustment and even full bike repairs.
Atticus is a Leading Cadet in the Australian Air Force Cadet, based at Point Cook RAAF. With a passion for sailing, he is currently part of the Australian Optimist Sailing Team and recently represented Team Australia in an international sailing regatta in Morocco.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said: “Wyndham City appreciates Atticus’s diligence and efforts in repairing, fixing and servicing bikes within the community to ensure they are safe to ride.”

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
