Yarra Council marks the worldwide 16 Days of Activism campaign with free community events and initiatives.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign led annually by United Nations Women. It runs every year from 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).

Yarra City Council is committed to a future where all members of the community are protected from family violence. We understand that family violence is a significant health and human rights issue and results in major health, social and economic consequences.

During the 16 Days of Activism, Yarra is joining the call alongside communities around the world to prevent and eliminate gender-based violence. Council is hosting two free community events designed to raise awareness and educate the community about family violence and its impacts.
