Reducing food waste, air quality and environmental regulation are some of the topics up for discussion at the NSW Environment Protection Authority’s (EPA’s) virtual Community Forum on Friday 19 November.
EPA Executive Director Engagement, Education and Programs Liesbet Spanjaard said community members in NSW with an interest in the work of the EPA were welcome to join the forum, and she’s looking forward to speaking with the community.
“The virtual forum is a great opportunity for us to listen and respond to communities all around the state,” Ms Spanjaard said.
“We’ll be detailing our priorities, and how we plan to continue protecting the community and environment.
“Importantly, we’d like to hear from the community about environmental matters that are important to them.”
Ms Spanjaard said the forum will give communities across NSW an opportunity to learn about how they can get involved in protecting their local environment.
“We also want to promote the easy ways the community can report pollution to us and let them know what steps we take when we receive their reports,” she said.
Other topics for discussion include the EPA’s strategic plan, regulatory strategy and waste strategy.
The forum will provide an update on programs of interest to the community, such as air quality, odours and forestry.
