Isaac is set to celebrate the boundless energy that young people bring to the region for 2019 Queensland Youth Week this April 3-14.
Young people between the ages of 12 to 25 will have the opportunity to learn new skills in the Isaac region.
Activities on offer include Bollywood dancing, henna body art workshops and outdoor movies and adrenalin-pumping events at either the go-kart track or skate park.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said a young person living in the Isaac region should be able to look to the future with excitement and see limitless possibilities.
“Being young is about exploring opportunities that come with increased independence and having the benefit of choice,” Mayor Baker said.
Council is proud to be part of Queensland Youth Week again this year with many fun and free activities on offer from the outback to the coast.
Activities this April include:
- St Lawrence
- Free fun day out on the Isaac coast is set with water slides and one of Australia’s favourite sports – cricket on April 13 from 9am to 6pm at St Lawrence Sportsgrounds.
- Nebo
- Free outdoor movie screening and snacks on April 12 from 5.30pm to 8pm at the Centenary Park.
- Glenden
- Free matinee movie screening and lunch on April 8 from 11.30am to 2pm at the Glenden Recreation Centre.
- Free Bollywood dancing workshop at Glenden Library on April 9 from 10.30am to 11.30am.
- Free henna body art workshop at Glenden Library on April 9 from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
- Clermont
- Inflatable fun slides will make a splash at Clermont Swimming Centre. Between the hours of 3pm and 6pm there is free entry.
- Free Bollywood dancing workshop at Clermont Library on April 10 from 10.30am to 11.30am.
- Free henna body art workshop at Clermont Library on April 10 from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
- Middlemount
- Scooter workshop and competition with a free barbecue at Middlemount Skate Park on April 28 from 8.30am to 1.30pm.
- Free Bollywood dancing workshop at Middlemount Library on April 11 from 10.30am to 11.30am.
- Free henna body art workshop at Middlemount Library on April 11 from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
- Dysart
- Scooter workshop and competition with a free barbecue at Dysart Skate Park on April 27 from 9am to 3.30pm.
- Free Bollywood dancing workshop at Dysart Library on April 12 from 1pm to 2pm.
- Free henna body art workshop at Dysart Library on April 12 from 2pm to 3pm.
- Moranbah
- Free Bollywood dancing workshop at Moranbah Library on April 8 from 1pm to 2pm.
- Free henna body art workshop at Moranbah Library on April 8 from 2pm to 3pm.
- Scoot and skate with a free sausage sizzle on April 9 from 11.30am to 1.30pm at Moranbah Skate Park.
