2023 Small Business Festival Wrap-Up

The Latrobe City Council Small Business Festival has drawn to a close for another year, following two weeks of exciting seminars and workshops.

There were 11 different free events delivered, and hundreds of attendees across all activities.

The events covered topics such as visual merchandising, new trends in retail, customer service excellence, marketing, podcasting, demographics, recruitment, and retention of employees, collaborating with universities and more.

There were also a few invite-only events, such as a networking evening for the Latrobe City Industry Alliance. This provided an opportunity for local businesses to collaborate and receive support while the region transitions to a more sustainable and connected future.

The events included a broad range of themes and appealed to many different interests, so that the future of various industries and businesses could be celebrated and nurtured.

Latrobe City Council Mayor Kellie O’Callaghan said that this festival is important for Latrobe City’s business community as it provides them with fresh information and valuable ideas to enhance and grow their business in a regional setting.

“The Small Business Festival delivers an invaluable opportunity for networking and skill development that all business owners can use to build their strength and resilience as we grow towards a more innovative and sustainable future,” said the Mayor.

“Small business plays an important contribution to our local economy, provides significant employment and shapes our culture. It is our priority to provide business owners with the unique opportunity to learn from industry specialists and build professional and rewarding relationships.”

The Small Business Festival was organised and delivered by Latrobe City Council Business Development Team.
