$50,000 in healthy funding for Western Australian schools

  • Grants of up to $5,000 for schools to implement activities that encourage healthy behaviours and educate students, parents, and the wider community about healthy habits
  • $50,000 available through Healthway’s Healthy Schools Program
  • The McGowan Government has today announced $50,000 in funding for schools to establish projects that will increase the health and wellbeing of their students and school community.

Through Healthway’s Healthy Schools Program, schools can apply for funding of up to $5,000 to help them develop projects that promote healthy behaviours, such as community gardens where children can learn about healthy eating.

Applications are encouraged from schools with students representing Aboriginal children and young people, regional and remote locations, and others experiencing disadvantage.

The Healthy Schools Program guidelines and application form, and a supporting toolkit, are available on the Healthway website.

Applications for this round will close at 5pm on Wednesday April 27, 2022.

As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:

“Schools play a significant role in influencing the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of children and young people.

“These grants can empower school leaders to take action to implement positive and innovative health strategies within their school community.

“I encourage all eligible schools to apply. By working together, we can create change and give all kids the healthy start they deserve.”
