Paul Slattery KC has been appointed as a full-time Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
Justice Slattery has previously served as Acting Justice of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, Judge of the District Court of South Australia, and Auxiliary Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Guy Barnett, congratulated Justice Slattery on his appointment.
“Tasmania’s Supreme Court has a proud history of serving our community and upholding the rule of law,” the Attorney-General said.
“Justice Slattery brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this important role, having worked across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
“His breadth of judicial experience, deep understanding of the law and longstanding commitment to the administration of justice make him exceptionally well qualified for this appointment.
“Justice Slattery will be pivotal in ensuring the ongoing success of this important institution.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future the Tasmanian Government is delivering a robust, fit-for-purpose legal system.”
Justice Slattery will serve as a full-time Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Tasmania until 30 June 2027.
