Washington, D.C. (September 14, 2026)––Ashurst Perkins Coie announced Monday the addition of Adam Severt as a partner to the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition practice within the Litigation, Investigations & Advisory division in Washington, D.C.
Adam joins the firm from the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Antitrust Division, where he served 22 years. In his most recent leadership role as assistant chief of the Technology & Digital Platforms Section, he led teams of more than 50 lawyers in high-profile antitrust matters, including merger reviews, conduct investigations, and litigation. Adam served on seven antitrust trial teams and managed some of the Antitrust Division’s largest and most complex matters.
“Adam’s government track record, which includes key roles in landmark antitrust cases, is remarkable,” said Shylah Alfonso, co-head of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition practice. “His ability to lead large teams and deep knowledge about our core industries make him a perfect fit as we continue to grow our antitrust capabilities.”
Adam advises on the full spectrum of antitrust issues with a focus on clients in technology, digital platforms, health insurance, financial services, and agriculture. His move signals the continued growth of the firm’s Litigation, Investigations & Advisory division, which also added Veronica Onyema from the DOJ in January.
“Ashurst Perkins Coie is renowned for its global reach and significant roster of technology clients, making it the ideal firm to develop a broad antitrust law practice,” Adam said. “I look forward to bringing all I learned at the DOJ to bear on today’s most complex antitrust matters.”
Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and his Doctor of Law degree from Emory University School of Law.
