Additional charges to be laid over aggravated sexual assault, NSW

Police will lay four additional charges against two men when they appear at court today over the alleged sexual assault of a woman at Wollongong last year.

In December 2018, detectives from Wollongong Police District arrested two men – then aged 27 and 21 – following an investigation into the sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman at a home unit in Wollongong earlier in the month.

At the time of their arrests, they were charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault in company.

The men – now aged 28 and 22 – are due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Wednesday 24 July 2019), where four additional charges will be laid against each in relation to the alleged incident.

Both men are now facing five charges, being four counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and aggravated sexual assault in company – inflict actual bodily harm.
