Adjusting to parenthood

When a baby enters your world for the first time, learning how to change nappies isn’t the only new skill you will need to learn.

For first-time parents, the first six-to-eight weeks with a baby brings new challenges as they adapt to a new lifestyle and get to know their new family member.

Thankfully, there is support.

The City of Stonnington is excited to announce a new first-time parents’ group commencing in 2022.

The program will run for eight weeks and provides new parents and care givers with support and education during the transition to parenthood.

Across the eight-week sessions, parents will learn sleep and settling techniques, baby’s health, healthy eating and active play, healthy relationships, and more. The program includes BabyMakes3, INFANT and Sleep and Settling.

The first program kicks off on Wednesday 2 February, with another two commencing from March on Tuesday evenings via Zoom and from 5 March on Saturday mornings at the Prahran Community Learning Centre.
